NEPM's New Local Art Collection: Curating beyond our gallery walls
We’re excited to celebrate the unveiling of a new public art collection we had the opportunity to curate at New England Public Media, a project developed in close partnership with two trusted collaborators: artist and curator Billy Myers, Artistic Director of Art for the Soul Gallery, and Vanessa Cerillo, Senior Marketing Communications and Events Director at NEPM.
Join us on Tuesday September 29, 5-7pm, at NEPM at their Springfield headquarters to celebrate the artists whose work is helping bring new energy, creativity, and connection to the space. Guests will have the opportunity to meet artists and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the studios, as well as participate in creating a collaborative community artwork with the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Studio A—a piece that will become part of the collection itself.
The collection features work by Kim Carlino, Michelle Falcón Fontánez, Charlie Gould, Andrae Green, Priya N. Green, Phyllis Meredith, Paul Midura, Billy Myers, Wane One, and Ed Cohen. Together, these artists represent a wide range of creative perspectives and experiences rooted in the communities and culture of western Massachusetts.
The celebration will also feature an all-vinyl DJ set by Kaliis Smith of The Fabulous 413, snacks from Graze Craze, and a cash bar from White Lion Brewery. The event is free and open to all, but RSVP is requested. For more information and to register click here.
This project was made possible through ARPA Cultural Support Funds.
